PROGRAMS FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH
The Beacon Center for Arts and Leadership’s youth program is committed to developing the leadership skills, self-confidence, and self-identity of all our participants. In our classes youth explore a variety of engaging art forms and recreational activities, and gain exposure to new experiences and methods of thinking. Leadership and life skills are explored in every class. Through a constant conversation regarding what it means to be a leader in their community, structured opportunities to act as leaders, and exposure to a wide variety of professional adult role models, we help our students to gain the educational, social and vocational competencies needed as they transition into young adulthood. The Beacon is more than just a “safe space” for teens. We are a safe space for teens to discover who they are, and who they are capable of being.

Little Leaders is a program designed to assist parents that come to Beacon for adult programming. Children grades K-5 can get homework help and can participate in arts and crafts and movie nights. Parents then have access to the fitness center and the evening classes offered at Beacon. The program provides parents with needed childcare, and prepares children for participation in other Beacon activities.
